Public works
Public works is a very important feature of Mesopotamia. It is important because without public works, people would not have solid safety and there will be a very serious disease going on because of the dirtiness of the people. If the massive city walls are not built around a city, armies who invade will easily go through the gates and the city will be invaded quicker than if we have a city wall. Also, if they did not have a good sewage system, the people of Mesopotamia would not be hygienic and the whole city would be trashed after a short period of time. Public works help make peoples’ lives easier and more comfortable to live in their environment.

Job specialization
Job specialization is when a person focus on one job instead of doing multiple jobs at once. If a person decided to be a doctor, the person will focus on being a doctor. The person wouldn't also be a cop or a firefighter. There were a variety of jobs in Mesopotamia. Mainly, because farmers grew the foods that allowed other people to do other things such as pottery or weave baskets. Most of these jobs left a large impact on the civilization, some of the jobs were potters, weavers and farmers.
Potters mainly made clay containers. Clay containers were used to store foods and other goods. Potters took the clay from the river. Potters used clay because it was lighter and easier to mix with stone. Some clever Mesopotamians started using molds to make their pots. This can be considered as the very start of the invention of the pottery wheel.
The weavers are observed to have a very stressed life. Weavers weaved cloth through loom weights. Loom weights are doughnut shaped stone. The weavers would use these cloth to weave through two loom weights and connect them. Weavers would have to do a lot of accurate weaving at a fast speed.
Farmers were very important to the Mesopotamian civilization. Farmers provided food for the entire population. However, once, the population increased and the food was not enough for all the people. Farmers needed water in order to allow foods to grow faster. The Mesopotamians made a path in the ground which were called the trenches. Trenches were built to get water from dry places.
